The Influence of the Bible on America
Was America
formed as a
Christian Nation? Were those who organized our government mindful of
the Bible and the Laws of God?
Recently I attended a Congressional Briefing on the Spiritual Heritage
of America in Washington D.C. One of the speakers at this conference
was
Senator Randy Forbes.
Senator Forbes
said this:
“The 56 signers of the
Declaration of Independence were the
greatest men the country has ever known.”
"They
understood two things:"
1. "Our rights came to us from
our Creator.
2.
These set of rights cannot be taken away by man because
they came from our Creator.
“There
is an attack today on the first principle that our
rights came from our Creator.”
“Those
today in government would have us believe that our
rights come from government, not from a Creator.”
What influence did the Bible have upon the formation of America and her
government?
