The Book of Hebrews
is considered to be one of those important foundational Books of the
Bible. Contained in these 13 chapters you will learn that the
Tabernacle that Moses built in the desert was a picture or a type of
the work that Jesus Christ would do when He came to the earth the first
time.
Every color and implemet of the Tabernacle meant something significant.
The layout of the Tabernacle itself shows us that the outer court
was a picture of earth the inner court a picture of heaven. The
Holy of Holies was itself a representation of the very presence of God.
You could not enter into the Inner court (heaven), without first
passing through the outer court (earth) where you first saw the Brazen
alter where you must make a sacrifice for your sins, an innocent dying
for the guilty, to go any further.
Upon the completion of the sacrfice, you could now go into the inner
court where you would find fellowship with God and see the Golden
candlestick, a picture of Jesus as the "Light of the World", the Table
o Shewbread, a picture of Jesus as the "Bread of Life", and the Altar
of Incense, a picture of our prayers rising up to God as a sweet aroma.
Passage into the inner court where we find fellowship with God, was
only possible because we had come through the sacrifice of the Lamb
(Jesus) that we had offered up to God at the entrance to the
Tabernacle. And speaking of the entrance, did you know that there
was only "One Way" into the Tabernacle?
"One Door" or entrance into the Tabernacle". Remember that Jesus
said that He was the only way into heaven, in fact he said that He was
"The Door".
There were not many entrances into the Tabernacle, into the presence of
God, there was just One Way, One Entrance, by the precious Blood of the
Lamb.
