<description>Tonight, August 31, 2009, I received a phone call from Tim and Colleen Hopkins to ask for prayer for Tim&#039;s Aunt Joan and Cousin Wess who are both having serious heart problems that will require open heart surgery. We pray for the Lord&#039;s complete healing in both heart conditions and that the Surgeon will be able to correct the problems each are having with their hearts.

Thank you Lord for your mighty power in being able to bring healing to these precious people and please bring comfort and encouragement to them as well as their families,

In Jesus Name,

Amen</description>

<description>Thursday July 30th, Melinda and I were on our way to Clear Creek to spend the evening fishing with a few friends, when the phone rang and we received some stunning news.

Our dear friends Tim and Colleen Hopkins were on their way to Phoenix to meet a &quot;Life Flight&quot; helicopter at the Arizona Burn Center. Their youngest child, little 4 year old Samuel, was playing with his friends, trying to make &quot;Torches&quot; to play with, when a container of gasoline was ignited and burned Samuel on his face and chest.

Melinda and I turned around and headed for home to pack up and drive to Phoenix. We called a few from Calvary Chapel Winslow to begin our prayer chain. When we arrived in Phoenix at 1 am I notified the Calvary Chapel Senior Pastors List server of Samuel&#039;s accident. Immediately, Calvary Chapel&#039;s around the world began praying for Samuel and his family.

Today, as we entered the hospital room to see Tim, Colleen and Samuel, our little boy&#039;s face was covered with bandages, and breathing from intubation.

Within an hour, Samuel was flailing about, complaining about the intubation, asking to have it removed. The doctors removed the breathing tube and changed his bandages.

We learned that the Lord had already so healed little Samuel that the percentage of burned area was down to about 18 percent from the first estimate of 67 percent. The burns were second degree or less, and Sam is expected to be able to go home in just a couple more days.

Doctors believe Sam will have virtually no scaring from the burns and will not require any surgery.

What an amazing God we serve! Thank You Lord for you healing power to save precious little 4 year old Samuel and comfort and encourage His parents and all of us who have been praying. You are amazing Lord!

<description>Well, I am excited to announce the incredible news of my surgery.

The following is the text from an email that I just sent to all the Calvary Chapel Senior Pastors around the world.

&quot;Just a short post to tell you what an amazing God we serve.

Yesterday morning I went into the Doc&#039;s with less than 6 months before I would be blind, Today I have better vision that I have had since I was 16 years old (I&#039;m 53)

Just 24 hours after the bandages came off, I could see clearer than I ever imagined possible. The doctor told me that it was a perfect surgery and absolutely no complications at all so far.

Our God is an Awesome God, nothing is too hard for Him!

Thanks for holding me up in prayer. All thanksgiving and praise to our wonderful Lord.

Amazed,

Rob&quot;

The morning of the surgery, I awoke from a sleepless night with much fear and anguish. The thought of losing my precious eyesight was terrifyng. I know well the great power and love of the Lord that I serve, He has proven Himself in my life hundreds of times already.

I began to read my Bible and just seeking the Lord at about 6 am. I read how Jesus came into the Synagogue to teach whle there was a man present with a withered hand. The Pharisees were also there to see whether Jesus would heal this man on the Sabbath.

When Jesus entered the Synagogue, He was always aware of that one person with the greatest need.

As I read these verses, The Lord spoke to my heart and told me that he knew well how great my need was, and how much I was depending on Him. He told me to reach out my hands towards Him and trust Him and He would take care of the rest.

I rose and went to the shower and as the water flowed down my body, the Holy Spirit washed over me in a great flood of peace. All fear and doubt left, being replace with great Joy and an amazing sense of peace.

The entire procedure was marked by this joy that passed all understanding. I felt relaxed, and went through the paces of being prepared for the surgery and was then rolled into the operating room.

As the Doctor began to operate on my eye, explaining each step of the procedure, I began my own private praise session, along with deep thanksgiving.

24 hours later, I am writing to you with the new sight that the Lord has given to me. How greatly I praise Him and thank Him once again for His power, love and faithfulness.

Thank you to all of you who stood with me in prayer through this uncertain time.

		<description>Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Today at 9:45 am I go in for the surgery on my eye to remove the quickly progressing cataract, and restore my vision.

For most person&#039;s with two eyes, this is a simple matter. The surgeon will only operate on one eye at a time, if all goes well with the first eye, then they proceed with the surgery on the second eye.

A person with vision in just one eye such as myself, the risk factor is greatly increased. In rare occasions, the surgery will have complications and the vision in the eye operated on will decrease, or in even rarer cases, the person can lose the sight in the eye completely.

If you have vision in just one eye, the thought of losing your eyesight is very frightening. Being born blind, I have alway greatly valued my eyesight and been so thankful to the Lord that I could see and enjoy the beauty of this world.

The doctors told me yesterday that I do not need to have the surgery now as my vision is not really bad as yet. He told me though that within six months I will most likely be back in to have the procedure done, as the cataract is of the variety that is very fast in it&#039;s progression.

I am very healthy now, so the risk factors for the surgery are less than they would be later, should my health not be a good a it is presently.

As I write this from my hotel room in Phoenix, with about 3 hours remaining till I go in for the surgery, I am filled with anxiety and fear.  Even though I have walked with the Lord for 33 years now, I find that this is perhaps my greatest trial.  But don&#039;t we all say that every-time we have a trial; &quot;This is the most difficult one Lord!&quot;

All things being considered though, I am confident that the Lord is good and that He really loves me. Not once in 33 years has He ever let me down, failed to bless my life or take care of me. I believe He brought me to this moment to build my faith, to show His love to me, and to demonstrate His great power to work in the lives of anyone who trust in Him.

I am looking forward to the opportunity to be able to come back here in just a few days and report to you that everything went perfectly and that my eyesight has been restored and there were no complications whatsoever. This is because I know that the Lord is mighty and He will not disappoint those who trust in Him.

So thank You Lord for all the years of your faithfulness to me and for bringing me to this moment where I must trust you once again. Thank you Jesus for you love and the courage and strength that you give to all of us when we fall upon your mercy and trust in You. I Love you Jesus so much, and I am so grateful that I know you in difficult moments like this.

Thank you to all of you who have prayed with me and supported and loved me through this so very much.

I will write back here soon to report the success of the surgery and the faithfulness of the Lord.

Trusting In Him,

<description>Tonight, (March 18, 2009) at Bible study, the Lord had laid upon mine and Lahry&#039;s hearts, that the Lord might possibly want to restore speech to Eric Anderson. During our Tuesday night prayer time, I was about to pray for Eric to be able to speak again, while Lahry, unknowing my prayer request, also began to pray for the very same thing.

So, tonight we anointed Eric and prayed over him to ask for healing for his voice. We will continue to pray every Wed and Sun until the Lord answers, or stops us from praying for Eric&#039;s voice to be restored.

<description>Well, today (Tuesday March 17, 2009) I received a phone call from the eye surgeon concerning my need for corrective surgery on my right eye to save the sight in that eye.

The first call from the Doctors office was to tell me that the Dr. had decided to not do the surgery on my eye as It was just too risky considering that the cataract in my eye was not yet as bad as it could be. Their thinking was that they would let the cataract become worse before doing the surgery.

I explained that for me, with only one eye, it already was pretty difficult to read, write, drive and teach the Bible studies at church.

I told them that I felt that since the cataract was never going to get better, but would continue to deteriorate, and I am in excellent health now, I believe it would be better to do the surgery now. The risks of complications would be less now, rather than waiting a year or two when my health may not be as good, or the condition of my eye or retina.

The second call from the Dr&#039;s office was to shedule the surgery for next Wednesday in Phoenix. So Please pray for us a we depart on Monday, to be there early for the pre op on Tuesday.

Thanks for all your love and support and for the financial help you have given to make this surgery possible.

For 33 years I have been declaring to you the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord. It is my turn now to put these words into practice and trust the Lord. I am confident that He will make the surgery turn out excellent and that I will be able to see better than I ever have in my life... Because the Lord is So Good!

Love all of you

<description>This past Sunday, March 15th, I had been spending time with the Lord regarding the service for that day and asked the Lord to send some new friends to the service that morning.

At 10 am Chris and Kenna came for the first time to our little church with their two beautiful daughters.

Thank you Lord for your faithfulness in answering this prayer. May you add to the church every Day those whom you draw to Jesus by your Spirit.

<description>I lament with you my brother. My only question is, what has taken Him this long? I doubt very seriously if we ever recover. There is no vision for the morality and values we once held dear as a nation. It&#039;s the blind leading the blind. When that happens, we know what&#039;s just ahead. Thank you for posting this. I would that the New York Times would carry on their front page. \o/
