The Book of 2
Samuel Commentary
The Process
and Purpose in
the Making of a Man of God-Successes and Failures
King
Saul has died and David now reigns in Israel.
Saul was a king who seemed to have absolutely no desire to obey and
submit to the Lord. David on the other hand, had a sincere heart for
God, even when he faltered and failed misserably.
David shows us the model for true repentance and how our dissobediance
greatlhy affects the Lord and His people.
Despite David's wonderful heart, he was still just a man like
us,
who
stuggled with sin, despiar, doubts and failure. The first ten
chapters of 2 Samuel record the great victories of David, the rest of
the Book of 2 Samuel records his failures and the decline of his
kingdom as a result of his failures.
When David was obedient to the Lord, He experienced great success, when
He was dissobedient, and allowed his flesh to rule his life, the entire
kingdom and all of God's people suffered.
Follow David as the Lord forms and fashions him into the man of God
that the Lord knew that David could become.
Learn the hard lesson that David learned, and apply them to
your own life as you seek to grow in
the Grace and Knowledge of the
Lord and walk with Him in your own life.
